One of my favorite authors, Michael Lewis, has just released The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine. In The Big Short, the author of Liar’s Poker, Moneyball, and The New New Thing chronicles the financial crisis and the collapse of the American economy. The book currently sits at number one on the Amazon.com hourly bestseller list, and will hopefully be available for my Nook shortly.

In the meantime, I came across two interesting videos from CBS’s 60 Minutes. The videos feature not only Mr. Lewis, but also Dr. Michael Burry, who ran hedge fund Scion Capital, LLC before liquidating the fund in April 2008. Dr. Burry, who along with John Paulson used credit default swaps (CDSs) to short the housing market, was also featured in Gregory Zuckerman’s The Greatest Trade Ever: The Behind-the-Scenes Story of How John Paulson Defied Wall Street and Made Financial History. The videos are definitely worth your time.
